The digital restoration started with a cave painting entitled, “Queen and Her Attendants,” from Badami caves of Karnataka. It is one of the early surviving paintings of the Hindu culture. The painting is now among the preserved history of Arctic World Archives (AWA) by Sapio Analytics.
The AWA is a facility for Data Preservation in the Svalbard archipelago on the Island of Spitsbergen, Norway. Stores the historical data in a deep steel vault, will be preserved for a millennium or so. This instance tells us how civilized and knowledgeable our ancients were, and it directly trashes out many illusionary theories that the mainstream education sprays on the students through repeated lessons.
People who explored the caves in the 1950’s reported many exquisite cave paintings. Behl, a photographer, captured this painting at first in 2001, and reported that many of the cave paintings were unavailable due to neglect and lack of intentional exploration. When National Geographic took up his work for examination, they hardly saw many paintings nor can they make out what they are.
The Restoration of this Ancient painting tells that there’s an uninterrupted lineage of Art works and the magnificence and spirituality of Ancient India dates back to several millenniums. The Photographer who restored Badami paintings says “My intimate relationship with Ancient Indian Paintingsover many years has helped to digitally restore these paintings.”
