It has become a rare sight that modern sculptors achieving the ancient finishing. Yet, a gigantic 3D statue of Ascended Master Adi Shankara has been installed recently and it got inaugurated my The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi.

Arjun Yogiraj an MBA turned sculptor, along with a team of seven sculptors, sculpted the 12-foot and 28-ton statue of Ascended master Adi Shankara with Chlorite Schist Stone, got installed in the premises of Kedarnath Temple in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. He spent 9 months on it along with his team by working 14 to 15 hours a day. The stone used for this statue is known to withstand natural calamities.

Earlier there were 18 such models of statues from various regions of the country, but the Mysore sculptor Yogiraj got his opportunity to show his skill, who hails from the family of sculptors of five generations. The statue stands where Adi Shankara performed his Ascent as the original construction said to have been destroyed in the 2013 floods.

 Ascended Master Adi Shankara is in people’s conscious minds recently due to this. The great master who re-established the ancient ever new righteousness and blatantly told that God and You are one, no matter what the nation do to him, it seems small until they get enlightened. However, hoping that this gesture would be a starting point that brings the spiritual change in India.
